Audiocord End User Licence Agreement

discord-voice.xyz · last updated June 2026

This is the agreement between you and the Audiocord project for using the desktop client. It is written to be read - plain language, the important parts up top, and nothing buried. Installing or using Audiocord means you agree to it.

At a glance

01 Accepting these terms

By downloading, installing, or running Audiocord you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree with any part of it, that is completely fine - simply don't install or use the client. If you are using Audiocord somewhere that has its own rules about software like this, making sure that is allowed is down to you.

02 Your licence to use Audiocord

Audiocord grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the client on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. The software is licensed to you, not sold, and all rights in it remain with its author.

You may
Install and use Audiocord for personal use, on as many of your own devices as you like.
You may
Share the official download link so others can get the client from source.
Please don't
Sell, rent, sublicense, or pass the client off as your own work.
Please don't
Redistribute altered, rebranded, or repackaged copies (see section 04).

03 Using Audiocord responsibly

Audiocord is, at heart, a window that loads web Discord with some audio and quality-of-life enhancements layered on top. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Discord Inc.

Because you are still using Discord through it, your activity remains subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. How you choose to use the client - and any consequences that follow from that choice - rest with you. Use it sensibly and at your own discretion.

04 Respecting the client's integrity

Audiocord is shipped as a single, consistent build, so that anyone who installs it can trust that the client they are running is the one we actually published. Keeping that build whole is what lets people download it with confidence - and that confidence is the most valuable thing the project has.

For that reason we ask that Audiocord is used as it is distributed, and not taken apart, decompiled, unpacked, or rebuilt into modified or repackaged copies. This isn't asked lightly, and the reasoning is straightforward:

In short, please keep Audiocord whole. Pulling the client apart or repackaging it opens the door to copies that can be turned against the very people - and the project - that trusted it.

None of this limits any rights you are granted by law that cannot be set aside by an agreement; where that applies, those rights still stand.

05 Telemetry and privacy

Audiocord sends a small amount of anonymous usage information so we can see how the client is used and put effort where it matters. It collects no voice, audio, or messages, and never your IP address. It can be switched off in one click and stays off. Exactly what is and isn't collected, and how to disable it, is set out in full in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this Agreement.

06 No warranty

Audiocord is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. It is an actively developed, community project - things can change or break, and you use it understanding that.

07 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Audiocord project and its author are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising out of your use of - or inability to use - the client. You install and run Audiocord at your own risk.

08 Ending the licence

You can end this Agreement at any time by uninstalling Audiocord and no longer using it. The licence granted here ends automatically if these terms are not respected. The parts that by their nature should outlast the licence - such as sections 07 and 08 - continue to apply afterwards.

09 Changes to this Agreement

As the project develops, these terms may be updated. When they are, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Audiocord after an update means you accept the revised terms, so it is worth glancing back here now and then.
